Does Virtual Reality Porn Mean the End of Humanity?

I recently read an article by gaming blogger Nathan Grayson who tried Virtual Reality (VR) porn. Knowing what I know about the effect high speed Internet porn is having on people’s sex lives after spending 2 years researching porn addiction and its relationship to the porn industry, I shuddered when Grayson quoted this anonymous man…

“At first it felt surreal and disconnected, but I timed myself to get off at the same time she did,” said this person, who preferred to remain anonymous. “And suddenly, I came, and we had that moment of [exhausted breathing sounds]. She was breathing at the same time. And then she looked me in the eye and leaned in and said, ‘I love you, baby.’ I was like, ‘Wow, that was amazing.’ And then I realized I’d only had that experience with a few girlfriends in my life. That’s when I realized this shit is crazy. To connect with a human you need so many things, and this achieved it almost immediately. This girl was there with me, and she recognized me, and she appreciated me.”

To go from “strangers” to “joint orgasm” to “I love you baby” with a sexy avatar that “appreciates you” in minutes is seriously mindblowing because of the implications of what that will do for normal sexual relations for the long term. Not having to make any efforts to having the sexual and emotional devotion of a “someone” – even if that “someone” is an avatar – will be very appealing to some. Imagine it… Never again having to shave, wash, change out of your sweaty work clothes or clean your teeth to get lovingly laid; never again having to face rejection because you are shy, have acne or are socially phobic; never again having to go through the often tedious motions of courting someone…

As things stand today, many escalating porn users have already stopped having sex with their partners in the main – unless their partners act like porn performers and even then interest in the partner wanes over time unless that person keeps upping the ante on their “porn performances” in synch with their partner’s escalating sexual needs or adds more people to the sexual mix. In the 20 odd years since the Internet entered our lives and high speed Internet porn replaced having to buy VHS porn videos from Adult Stores or Mail Order, sexual relations between couples have changed dramatically. According to my research, more and more people are beginning to see their real naked partners as just bad porn; increasing numbers of this generation of young men are still virgins in their 20s and 30s or get “porn creep” when they try to have sex (an inability to get an erection) or just generally have erectile dysfunction due to compulsive masturbation.

In the article, the blogger writes “Maybe we’ll stop having sex with each other. Maybe this is the end of humanity.” He doesn’t know how close to the truth he is with that statement…

Because of the science behind porn addiction (you can find an article I wrote about that ON THIS PAGE ), and addicts needing to keep pumping the brain chemicals dopamine and adrenaline around their bodies, pretty soon, everything will have been done in real person porn (apart from live porn with addicts trussed up to high tech vagina or penis simulated equipment) and then VR porn will truly take the stage in a big way. In a sea of free Internet porn, the Industry is now struggling to make money. The only porn which makes money today is porn which gets adrenaline increasingly released into the body during benders – things that addicts are gradually exposed to as a bender progresses – like anal relapses, “shemales”, and ultra violent “forced”/ rape porn for example. Porn addicts are addicted to adrenaline and dopamine big time and this is what keeps them coming back to porn day after day and why porn is so defended by people in general and addicts in particular. It’s simply the pleasure principle jacked up to the teeth. I don’t buy the Free Speech arguments. That’s all puff and wind to distract from the real issue of the fear of having orgasms on tap taken away.

When VR porn settles into our future, it will tick every box. It will give addicts the “intimacy” they crave that they are not having with their partners – or anyone at all if still virgins – and will pump dopamine and adrenaline levels through the roof because there is no end to how violent, crazed or grotesque VR porn can go – like its younger high speed Internet porn sibling before it. At present, there are only so many penises the industry can currently fit into real performers and only so much violence they can heap on them before they break inside (physically and psychologically) but in VR porn there will be no such limits – a pornographers dream.

VR porn may just turn out to be the last nail in the coffin of real intimacy between couples and may fully seal the deal for humanity in the process when people finally masturbate themselves into extinction.
